	MetaCorp Companies Clean-up Otrobanda in Observance of Global Earth Day Global Earth Day is a day dedicated to the environmental health of our planet. Environmental groups use Earth Day as an occasion to draw attention to current local and global environmental problems and to discuss commonsense solutions. Volunteers gather to pick up litter; clean up streams, plant trees, and participate in other environmental activities. “The Environment”, “Global Warming”, the “Ozone Layer”, “Climate Changes”… These are all terms that are used to express the urgency for us as a civilization to take action in reversing the damage done to our planet, but nothing sums it up better than these simple words from 2007 Nobel Prize Winner, Al Gore: “What we take for granted might not be here for our children.” On April 22, 2008, in observance of “Global Earth Day”, and in the spirit of contributing to our community, the MetaCorp family of companies, Intermodal Container Services, ATCO, The Movies, and Renaissance Curaçao Resort and Casino, contributed a small grain of sand with their 1st Annual “Clean Up the World Day”, whereby the employees joined forces to clean up the area of Otrobanda. The employees were divided into two (2) teams that followed the routes: From the viaduct through Breedestraat, via Brionplein/Awasa/West End to the Rif Fort. And from the viaduct via the Bus Stop, Aqualectra to Rif Fort. The Clean up the World event was concluded with the ceremonial planting of plants, sponsored by “Exotische Tuinen” at the entrance of the parking lot to the Rif Fort. This effort additionally contributes to assisting our government with the beautification of Otrobanda, but is also in concordance with the request from the CHATA for hotels & resorts to play a leading role in the up-keep and cleanliness of their surroundings.

	Employee of the 1st quarter Metacorp Curacao Employees are indispensable to our organization, therefore MetaCorp Curacao is pleased to recognize its employees for their achievements. On April 4th, 2008 MetaCorp Curacao celebrated its first “Employee of the Quarter” for 2008 on the Fort Wall of The Rif Fort. This event brought together all the personnel of The Movies, ATCO, Intermodal Container Services and Renaissance Curaçao Resort & Casino. The criteria that were used to choose the “Employee of the Quarter” were that the employee had to display an outstanding work performance, a positive attitude and a contribution in an exceptional way to the company. This year’s first “Employee of the Quarter” went to Mr. Cedric Concincion Jr., better known as Sandy of ATCO Curacao. Sandy is 26 years old and has been in service since April 2, 2001. He began his career as a helper at the ATCO garage, soon after which he promoted to driver. Currently he has further advanced to the position of Supervisor of the activities of the different projects on the ISLA Refinery. Through the years Sandy has developed himself further by following computer and supervisory courses. He always displays true dedication to his work, a high sense of responsibility, loyalty to the company, and is willing to help in all areas of the company and go that extra mile. Sandy congratulations and keep up the good work!
